Amazing, this kind of bigoted crap still goes on... I believe you still have in the Alabama state constitution an item making it illegal to have a mixed race marriage and the last time they it came up in Alabama in 2000 they voted to keep it in. Truly amazing. Recently, again in MISS, a gay girl wanted to bring her girlfriend to the prom. The school cancelled the prom. It looked like there would be no prom. Finally, a compromise was reached and a prom would be had off site. Except, when prom nite rolled around only 7 kids showed up. It turns out there was a second location at a country club where the majority of kids went and where the girl with her girlfriend was not invited. Talk about Mean Girls........ 2010? Not in the deep South.....its still 1950. And you have the right wing kook of a governor of Virginia taking a month to honor the Confederacy without mentioning the reason why it and the War took place...And on top of that 33% of his state is black and the idiots of the right say they are the party of Lincoln. And now if VA inmates want to vote, they just can't make a request to do so like they could before the new governor....now under the new GOP governor, they have to write an essay: washingtonmonthly.com And in OK, they are talking about creating a state militia to fight the federal gov't. Frankly, I say let them leave......good riddance to bad blood.
