Well I don't think electric cars will ever replace hydro carbon cars. The record shows that mankind is becoming ever more to rely on oil.Global oil demand has been increasing at a rate of 2.2% post the second world war.Though there will be some electric cars, the need to replace the world wide fleet with electric car would be decades out even if you could supply enough hydro (that I doubt).China has based its economic foot print on oil. That is the mistake that the Western World has done and is the root of the next oil emergency. Then throw in the fact that India is following China and the picture emerges of a world millions of barrels a day short of demand.A lot of Governments around the world are preaching green energy in terms of lip service, yet no one is addressing the coming crisis. This is due to the fact that people are used to a over supply of cheap oil for the past 150 yrs.Unless the powers of the world can stop population growth now we are headed for a much different world in the next decade. There is no doubt that 50 yrs from now we may solve the energy problem. But you have to see the problem before its a problem.Thats were emerging countries are failing to understand the future. If I am wrong then why is China putting 17 million new cars on the road this yr using gasoline?
