Really? Wow! I can't believe you were once a Dem and to have voted for Carter too! He was a Dems' Dem. I wasn't old enough to vote for Carter then and I wouldn't have even if I'd been old enough. We were a seriously conservative Republican family living in Texas. But I voted for Reagan. I then voted for Bush Sr when he won and voted for him again when he lost to Clinton. Then I voted for Bob Dole when he lost to Clinton, then for Bush Jr, although I preferred McCain at the time, but McCain lost the GOP primary to Bush Jr. Then I switched parties and voted for Kerry and then Obama.

So it seems that you are a party switcher too. Since you've switched parties in your lifetime, I'm surprised you give me such a hard time for having switched from GOP to Dem recently! You act as if you don't believe it is true, when you yourself have done it. That seems odd to me.

I voted for Carter in 76 too. I learned my lesson.
