What interests me currently is trying to understand real estate values vs unemployment in western europe historically. I suspect the USA will indeed face higher unemployment than historically seen for an extended period here, but that does not necessarily mean that RE prices fall and remain below historical ratios to income. I wonder if CalculatedRisk knows of any such data sources??

Obama and Bernanke should be heroes as should everyone who was involved in crisis management worldwide the past 18 months including even Bush and Paulson. Funny, I'd put them all in Guantanamo, along with Phil Gramm, Mrs. Gramm, James Leach, Bailey, Alan Greenspan, Dick Cheney, Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Arthur Levitt, Tim Geithner, Jim Cramer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Kate Gosselin.
