Because growing up, I liked watching The Dukes of Hazzard.

I do understand why many would find it offensive. Those who fly it aren't exactly remorseful about the legacy of slavery and racism in the Deep South.

Usually though I would avoid people who fly it. If a state capitol flies it, that's up to the residents of the state to vote on. If I were a resident, I would vote to take it down simply because it's an anachronism.

But I'm not going to judge or force my beliefs upon those who just want to celebrate their southern heritage. That's the problem with guys like Alghieri. They want to force their beliefs upon others and stifle the free speech rights of those they disagree with. All in the name of "tolerance."
