The way to maximize profit in an era of stagnation is to buy and hold the major indices, especially commodity funds (for 18 months during cyclical bull snapbacks) and load up on TLT (if you are a conservative investor for 18 months during secular downturns).

During an era of prosperity (1982-2000), one should just buy and hold and add to positions on all dips.

<<To the extent that the public is participating in the current rally, they are doing so more out of fear than greed IMHO. Fear that they will not be able to retire with any kind of a decent living standard unless they play a game which will devour most of them in the end.>>

The Public has always believed in "God, Family, Country". They trusted their country and got screwed by their country. One can always count on the American Public to be good public servants, waving their American Flags while they believe in the hype and become deceived time and time again. Am I suppose to be sympathetic to those who refuse to think for themselves and allow the money grabbers to rip them off?

I saw the handwriting on the wall in the late 1960's. I use to come home from high school and tell my Mommy that this country was on the way to becoming a corporate fascist state and I came to despise large US MultiNational Corporations because all they cared about was profit. (With the exception of Netfix, my views have not changed today.) I was a big fan of Ralph Nader, long before he ran for President, because I respected the way he took on big business and big government to protect the American consumer.

Consciousness is everything. I've led my whole life to protect my family, friends and students from the totalitarians and scam artists running the country.

By the sound of your rants, I sense you are really surprised by the revelations of all these scams and rip offs that have been taking place. I'm not and have prepared accordingly.

You bet I got big "pipe dreams". But they have never been rooted in God or Country (as Winston would say "Ministry of Truth"), just Consciousness, so I have no resentment, like you, since I've prepared accordingly.
