It was done in a back room by the Dems in the legislature along with Kennedy and Romney.

Shades of the current regime. Then, if he can't even claim that he was acting on behalf of the majority of the welfare state, he's screwed.....

More than anything else, this particular behavior is what hurts politicians most. Americans do not trust deals done out of sight in back rooms.
