I was up in Sonoma today and talked to a couple of winemakers about it. They think it is pretty far out to lunch, but that wouldn't necessarily keep it from passing if the right sentiment were to build up. What I haven't seen yet is the impact on other forms of alcohol. If beer and spirits are targeted to the same extent, then I would be very skeptical that people would do this to themselves. If it was just wine, I wouldn't be quite so confident. Scored a stunning bargain today. Sapphire Hill 2001 Feeny Ranch Zinfandel ... Tim is a long time favorite maker ... for $89 a case!!!!
