The only ones against it are the GOP, who are bought and paid for by the oil companies. If you don't believe me, you should spend more time on the Politics of Energy thread. It's where the GOP die hards live and they are very much against anything that would get in the way of oil profits. You may be surprised to find out that I agree with everything you wrote prior to the above. I realize that you're paid more attention to this than I have but I do have a couple of observations. First of all, you can't reasonably generalize from GOP die hards on an energy thread on a stock website. Secondly, people can easily let their feelings about whatever ideological bogeymen they see cloud their perceptions of things.
