Nonsense. Not true. To date, it has not happened.......that the payout is greater than the revenues it takes in. It may happen this year because of the Great Recession. If it doesn't, it is expected to happen by 2016.

Why it is happening now is totally beside the point to any rational person (that leaves you out).


It was the point in my discussion with Ten when you decided to barge in and say something different.

That a system as critical as SS could be caught without adequate reserves to meet its obligations is a testament to just how incompetent our government is to run such programs and hard core evidence that government should NEVER, EVER be trusted with such programs again.

Hardly evidence of anything..........there was a demographic population bubble after WW II.....its now coming of age. That bubble was preceded by a population slow down during the Depression.....hence the shortfall.

I am curious......you're an accountant. We've known about this demographic problem for a while....and yet, the rate of payroll deduction for SS has not changed in at least 20 years. Why is that?
