Decidedly off topic: Friday night our neighbor across the alley had a fire. (bear with me, it starts out grim but I think it's funny). My wife was talking to her mother on the phone at the time when she noticed the ruckus. She's giving her mother a blow by blow description of the scene as she's walking down the steps to get to our back yard. On the last step she trips and lands on her behind. She's sitting there in the dark confused, dazzled by the flashing lights of the fire engines and the smell of smoke and she remembers she's talking to her mom on the phone. She yells into the phone Oh my God mom! Are you ok? I didn't witness this, she told me about it latter. After I stopped laughing I though it was actually sweet that her first thought was her mom's welfare. The DFD knocked down the fire right away. Just a little smoke damage, they'll be back in the house in about a week. My wife's butt is fine this morning.
