With the new shale gas discoveries we should also be moving toward using NG more IMO, at least in conversion of power plants from dirtier fuels like coal. While I worry about accidents, I have to say that I think nuclear should also be expanded in a big way, as France has done. If battery tech improves the way some think it will, (and I'm a bit more pessimistic on the cost side than many, but hoping) it would be great if we could cut way back on oil via a fleet of electric commuter vehicles powered via nuclear and NG power plants...
