Steve - just listen to the shills on CNBC most of them side with GS - which only re-enforce my assertion that the whole activity on WS is of thieves and swindlers and has very little to do with performing any productive activity of matching savings with industry and other economic needs. IMHO 90% if not more of the transaction in the various financial instruments are nothing more than an effort to skim money from pension funds insurance companies and people savings into the pockets of those few leeches (which unfortunate are several hundred thousands) working in the financial industry engaged in financial transactions. From the desire to increase liquidity in the markets of financial instruments what we have now is a monster from WS firms, hedge funds, mutual funds and you name it that are sucking the livelihood of the working people around the world giving nothing of value in return.(Oh yes they increase consumption with the money they looted). Just think of the wades of money now being spent on consultants’ lobbyists attorneys accountants and the like to keep GS leeches out of jail – how many unemployed could have a satisfying meal from those moneys which is being wasted? How many foreclosures can be avoided? How many hospital beds could be added? … how many families living on 1 or 2 USD a day can be feed and how many children saved from illness ……and the list goes on
