Bankruptcy is the cornerstone of capitalism. Capitalism was weak in the US -- now it is dead. And no, we do not have socialism -- we are moving away from any sense of shared responsibility in our politics. We have raw power -- each against all. Open carry. Tea parties. Unions. Politicians. Bankers. Unlimited corporate lobbying. Everybody. We threw away what elevated us -- the very things that unleashed a tidal wave of innovation and entrepreneurship -- and traded it for a far nastier and brutal form of survival -- the use of naked power and naked aggression in a last ditch spasm of 'f-you, I want mine and I will do anything to get it'. It has also infected the next generation who already have made it clear that they only want to know two things: What is in it for me and what can I get away with? These are the values we taught them -- and now we will pay the price for being ethically bankrupt.
