I'm certainly not opposed to sharing 'key' issues as to why one likes a particular stock. Obviously, I don't plan to buy any stock mentioned on a chat board without doing my own DD......but helpful information should be appreciated by all. Any contest like this is strictly luck as events one might anticipate don't always happen during the time frame. Prime example for me was previously putting ARQL into my contest holding.......stock finally did what I hoped....doubled, but at that time didn't have it in 'contest'.....but did in my real portfolio. I'm sure that SR. K will object to him 'having' to read and digest so much information.....before he decides to ding you!(:>)

Great idea - but after the pick and the contest kick-off, right?

I'm going to go ahead and put my picks in now.

APPL 50%
GOOG 50%

I'm picking APPL because Apple is the company I know best, and despite the fact that it has had an amazing run over the past couple of months, and is trading today at another new all-time high (its 19th new ATH in the past month), I believe it has more room to grow. All segments of the company's business are doing well, and the iPad is a big hit which will start adding to Apple's bottom line this quarter. I predict the stock will be over 300 by the end of the summer at the latest.

I'm picking Google based on valuation at this point.

The combo of Apple and Google has allowed me to beat the S&P in the past, and I believe it will do so handily this time. I'm sure I won't win the contest, but given the competition around here, I don't think that's possible for me.
