Scott:

You state:

yes I know I maybe a bit harsh on these idiot analysts, but what can I say?! To be realistic these analysts are similar to weather men on your favorite 10' Oclock local news! They always predict the weather the same way as if you look outside of your window! I remember back in Minneapolis where I lived for over 11 years, people reacted the opposite of what the news weather man would predict the weather would be the next day! Similarly and as you stated it, these analysts (most of them) upgrade the stock when it either has already gone up and has perhaps just another 2-3% to go up, and downgrade it when it has already been beaten down! And in doing so one can truly wonder of their intentions!!

Case and point: Pain Webber had SUNW at hold when it was trading between $28-$45, then all of a sudden they called SUNW "The best single idea of 1997 (if not the 20th Century!)" and raised it to a Strong buy when the stock was at around $45/shr! Only 6 weeks later after the stock had been beaten down to $33-$36 they downgraded it to a hold/marketperform!! And this is just ONE example, and I am sure if you look closely you will see it happening (or has happened) to every single stock in the market. And this happens to the best of them (e.g. INTC being marked as a Strong Buy when it was at $90-$100/shr, and now that it is at $70-$75 they call it a hold/underperform!). And you want me not to think of analysts as a bunch of dirty jack-asses hurting the small investors on the street?!!
