I think that anyone who has been investing in this market since 1999 knows for sure that stocks dont move in one direction. I once saw an interview with Buffett and Munger at which Buffet commented that the Price of Berkshire Hathaway stock had gone down by at least 40% on 4 occasions since He had taken over the company, and Munger once commented that because of the volatility investors have the opportunity to make far greater returns than they would in bond funds. NSRGY has lots of fans outthere although ive never owned it. Im bottom up investor/speculator. However, it seems to me that the economy anecdotally has no recovered as quickly as one would think from watching cnbc. Walking in a town in my area on a saturday night i was surprised that so few people were on the street, and that a restaurant that was usually full with people waiting outside to be seated had lots of empty tables. Even supermarkets seem less busy lately. Now it occurs to me that for many the unemployment checks have stopped coming and perhaps this is the reason.

I have owned it for a while (bought a few more lot's after that post in 2003/2004 which I never sold. I also bought some again in Y2009 but sold 1/2 of that on the runup.

It's my favorite stock as you can tell - great management, great balance sheet and a great business. Every couple of years there is an opportunity to buy this stock at very reasonable prices. I always bought and was never disappointed.I think I would buy some more in the low 40's as well. my last lot was purchased at about 33$.
