Bruno was executed for heresy - a great wrong, but he wasn't burned for his scientific thoughts. Its true that many scientists have been and still are religious. In fact, it was the beliefs that God had created an orderly law-obeying universe, that mankind created in the image of God had the ability to discern those laws, and should do so that created a revolution in science. Nowadays atheists have infilitrated science and have attempted to use it to destroy belief.
