I dunno. I bought two GM cars in the last ten years or so. I grew up with almost all GM cars in my family. They were fine.

I was in favor of them not collapsing. Now I'd like to see them broken up.

Nonsense. The last, and only, foreign car I ever owned was a TR-6. And I got rid of it in the 1970s. The salt and sand in Galveston didn't do it any good at all...
