I don't know anything about the Assembly of God church. I think one could be an honest Christian by concentrating only on what Jesus said and imitating his example. Jesus was not a conformist, was actually a bit of a rebel and believed in forgiveness and unconditional love. Quite similar to Buddha, Socrates and Jefferson in many respects. The only entity a believer should be afraid of offending is God. A Christian should believe this life is just a test for the next life. Cheers to you Brumar you are a reasonable man.
