diane, thank you very much. My kids have warrants and was trying to figure out how i would manage exercising those. Maybe i should sell some to create cash in their account.

thanx for the summary.

i need to tell Andy, I have also been in a "buy back" program for long time now ... as intel has provided us w. so many good buying oppurtunities. I wonder why intel does not think it is a good investment at these pe of 18.

Diane,
Thanks for your synopsis.

Re -- that the company had performed in the 16-20 percent range of growth over many years and that pundits who are paid to make assessments have said Intel will continue along those lines, but the numbers are not his.

Intel has grown at ~30% the past few years. The PC growth rate has been in the high teens for the past few years and projected to continue at the same rate for the next few.

Diane: I think you got most of the main points. I particularly liked his 'strategic inflection point' bit. Andy Grove seems to be a great engineer as well as a astute business man, a killer combination if you ask me.

Diane, I found the statement by Andy Grove "wondering the same thing" about the stock drop very informative. On one hand we have the CFO of Microsoft wondering why his stock is so high and Andy Grove wondering about Intels price drop. Andy very easily could have launched into a statement about lofty valuations, Asia, etc. But he did not, to the contrary he wondered about the drop, knowing what he does about the company and its technical and business climate. To me that speaks volumes. He is scheduled to both open and close today's conference.

Imo - double bottom today, make strong base in this area, test and hopefully close above 200 d MA at Jan earnings release.
