Here's the worst part of their announcement today:

"Schneider also said Ascend likely will cut the list prices of its access concentrators -- a telecommunications device that accounts for about 50 percent of Ascend's sales -- by 20 to 30 percent in the next few quarters."

Ascend's revenue and earnings are doomed for next quarter. What coporate buyer is going to buy concentrators this next quarter when he can wait a quarter and save 25% and be a hero. It was bonehead to announce that they were going to cut prices by that much in the near future. Customers will just push out their orders. Wouldn't you if you were a buyer?

Is Schneider a rookie? He may have just caused a 5-10% drop in revenue next quarter. Anybody else see it this way? What am I missing here?

What's new? - Remember when the CFO contradicted the CEO on the same day?

Jason,

You've got to be kidding. These are two different reports of the same comments, not two different sets of comments. Don't believe everything you read.
