Well perhaps if you deal with a live broker it may be.

During Earnings season I trade to fade a lot. For example I was Long AXP Calls and when they reported I sold short against the calls in the after/pre market to protect the option position.

The platform "knew" I was Shorting AXP and entered the order in that fashion.

Just an observation. I completely understand that real flesh and blood brokers have to make a living. I was a retail broker for a couple of years in the early 1990s.

My opinion is that a live broker today for a person like you, myself, or anyone on this thread is superfluous. You make the decision, you press a button and the trade is made.

Anyway, end of rant. I think Sr K read your post incorrectly and what you were saying was that your trade was similar, and your observation blended with your actual order.
