Re another message: Hi Greg. Looks like life at YRI has been extended for at least a couple more years if the entire financing can get closed.. What will the proceeds be used for? (Which projects will recieve more attention now?) And does this financing indicate that finding a JV right now is going to be tougher than say a month ago? We've been hearing YRI has been in serious talks talks with several big firms but still no word, whats the latest report. LATER One other thing Greg, out of curiousity the financing is $US but funds can't be raised in USA. Won't it be harder to sell the US currency notes in Canada rather than in the USA, where as I understand a significant number of shareholders reside? Response: I've only got a minute before I have to leave so I'll partially answer this now and see if we want to pick it up tommorrow. The proceeds of the issue will be raised for ongoing exploration and development work, but the detail is being discussed as we go. The main reasons are a) we don't know how much we'll raise; b) we are still working on potential JV's (which would positively skew the spending; c) a great deal is determined by results (eg. Santa Cruz, Paraguay and PNG, each of which should be returning results over the coming months) and, d) there are issues such as the signing of the COWs that would add another dimension to things. Nothing has changed over the past few months concerning JVs. They are generally tough in this market, given cash positions, market fears and metal prices, especially gold. However, we are making good progress on the Northern Porphyry Copper Belt discussions, in Paraguay and on a couple of other properties. I don't want to forecast (or jinx) anything but I'm confident if the world doesn't collapse (again), then we should have at least one JV announcement within the next few months. (Sooner is possible but corporate decision making and Due Dilligence are very tiring and drawn out processes. Also, as we approach Christmas, we pick up another bit of potential stickiness.) If I were betting on JV timing... I'd be a fool. I hope this helps. Greg
