Sonki, no I definitely don't think of IBM as an elephant now. For one thing, they are the technological leader in semiconductors, ahead of Intel and TI. They were first to 0.25 micron, will be first to 0.18 and copper metallization chips. Pretty good for a computer company, huh? Next you'll ask if they're a buy. I don't know and am beginning to wonder if technical analysis is better than fundamental. I'm on the sidelines for a while, holding and no new buys. Maybe should be the opposite, don't know.

Another big difference in IBM now is they'll sell you anything, even CPU chipsets to a competitor (no we don't but Hitachi does or used to buy them). Before, IBM held everything very close the the vest, all proprietary.

Anyone else care to pine on IBM?

Off down Lawrence xpy for a good pizza tonight. Need something!
