The real wake up call that it no longer was going to be business as usual took place in my state of Mass., when Scott Brown a little known republican beat the incumbent atty general, who was a long time Democratic political leader for Senate seat of Kennedy.
He was able to strike the chord of wanting to make change and not being part of the group of politicians that brought us to this point. His opponent took the outcome as a foregone conclusion and had time to vacation in the carribean during the race. His election struck fear into the heart of all incumbents. However, this has now been overshadowed by the political goings on in florida where a current Republican Senator has been excommunicated by ranking republicans for becoming too cosy with the Obama administration. I expect all voting will be along party lines from now on no matter what the issue.
