They were brought here buy schmuck capitalists who negotiated their own private terms with a "labor lord", who in turn smuggled them across the border. The immigration reform should address this issue and change it to a government to government exchange instead, no matter how much the tea partiers yell "socialism". When Obama got the middlemen (the banks) out from the student loan process (again socialist), we all ended up being winners. Sallie Mae, formally known as SLM (SLM, news, msgs), fought tooth and nail against legislation President Barack Obama signed last month that prohibits private companies making federal student loans after June 30.
