The current problem with SPU is its secondary. I don't like dilution and most Chinese companies dilute like crazy. I usually sell the most egregious ones and keep the others. I'll think what I am going to do with SPU.

I am not interested in HOGS due to ethical reasons. I'm pretty sure I looked at the others on your list, but I don't have my notes on this computer - will comment later when I have them.

Short comments:

SEED - losses, avoid.
GRO - accounting issues in 2008, do you think they fixed all the issues?
ALN - I may take a closer look
SIAF.PK - not current on reporting? avoid.
YHGG.PK - not current reporting. avoid.
HQS - low ROE, skip
ADY - not cheap.

YHGG. Seeing a more current earnings statement (last was 6/'09) would provide more confidence in the company or stock. They have over 15,000 people and $1.7B in assets, so it's a somewhat concerning that they can't or won't put out a current financial report.

Otoh, in .08, company earned $.49/sh.; their estimate for '09 is or was .50/sh. I believe they should be able to make it based on '08 performance and '09 first half report.

Stock has been on a ride:

Still, at current $2.75/.50 = 5.5 p/e, that's too low for a substantial Chinese agricultural company that I assume will have stable or growing demand for its foodstuffs. I'll step up for a few more shares today. Small position until financials are issued.

HOGS. Adding to this Chinese pork producer as stock drops a bit. Product demand is there, will continue to be there. P/e under 9 is low enough for me for this type business to be in buy range.

Also, fwiwi, I continue to hold SEB, a USA exporter of pork.
