Let me venture some guesses about the low rate of participation by American blacks, among other minorities, in Tea Party type activism.

Same as most of us peckerwoods, their vision of how the world works - economics - is largely shaped by personal experience and that inherited from their parents, grand parents, etc.

Racial animosities were long compounded by rotten education and a deficiency in cultural capital. Opportunities for the best among them were disproportionately confined to government employment. That legacy persists. Few are equipped to understand the brilliance of bright lights such as Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, et al.

Maybe, with time....
