kai, we agree, I have repeatedly stated that amd is hurt by the cpq's and IBM's. they are sold out already and companies like cpq just chew amd up on price at the bargaining table.
amd can sell to the 2 and 3 tier.
whatever is killed, someone takes it's place.
but, I exited amd at 36 months ago.
they are taking to long to work out yeild problems.

We didn't communicate.
I don't think that DEC will buy AMD - I think AMD is arranging for their K7 to use DEC memory interface chips, which already support Ramtron's ESDRAM. I see a play where CPQ could show Intel a rival mother board, using AMD chips and high speed memory --> what prices/deals do you think CPQ could then get from Intel?
