Well, Volcker's for it (reinstituting Glass-Steagall), but as you say he's not someone who matters (seeing that he's still locked in that steamer trunk in the White House basement with Larry Summers fat ass sitting on it.....)

I agree. Glass-Steagall needs to be in there. Don't underestimate the GOP, though. They have now filibustered two attempts to take the Dems bill to debate it on the floor. They are obstructing in order to get changes to the bill before formal debate begins. So the GOP has a real chance to put some real reform in there and eliminate the stupid reform like the $50B play money fund. Let's hope they get it done. Otherwise, their filibusters will have been for nothing.

Having said that, I'm glad the Dems are squashing attempts by Buffet and the GOP to water down derivatives reform. They need to strengthen derivatives reform, not water it down.

Both parties are doing some good, but neither party is going the whole distance needed for real reform.
