That has been obsolete for decades.

Exactly, we used it, now we don't. Protocols change.

Umm, Tim, all of those preceded the Internet.

By your definition of the Internet which relies on the protocol. Your making a circular argument.

Again, so? All existing browser are clear descendants of it.

And if it hadn't existed they would be decedents of something else.
