We used to call this country "The Great Melting Pot."

But there is a rising movement among people who call themselves "multiculturalists" who think that phrase is oppressive and seeks to rob minorities of their cultural distinctiveness. I see more and more of this multiculturalist movement on college campuses and local communities.

I don't see anything wrong with the multiculturalist movement, except when it seeks to divide us as a nation or otherwise take away from the goal of racial reconciliation.

But hey, enough of that tangent.
