Re: "you people really fear the tea party movement."

I have no idea what your use of "you people" means but DON'T BLAME ME if Libertarianism and Authoritarianism come up with different policy prescriptions!

(After all... they are POLAR OPPOSITES!)

It simply is what it is....

Possibly the only place that some of these folks can come together is in opposition to deficit spending (but even there, with some of the national security / Authoritarian types there is good big government deficit spending and there is 'bad' deficit spending. Only the Libertarians come out simon-pure on that one.)

And then... when you through in the extra complication of the Social Conservative pro-Culture War types you have an entirely *different* kettle of fish to consider. One where, among Tea Party backers the twain often does not meet. With the Libertarians, (whatever their personal behaviors are), firmly against the government ever proscribing behaviors (they see this as an infringement on individual liberties)... and the Social Warrior types actually requiring a bigger government to establish and enforce the social norms that they favor.....

That probably explains why so many of the groups have been trying REALLY HARD to just keep the talk about FISCAL PROBLEMS (taxes, spending...) and away from the SOCIAL and Foreign Policy questions that would cleave their movement right down the middle.
