I see what you are saying, and I believe that it is true. That is
at least partly why I always either place a limit order well in
advance of the underlying security price move, or just buy
at the ask, sell at the bid.

In other words, I am in violation of Ferengi rule of acquistion
#3 "Never pay more for an acquisition than you have to."
as well as :
#141 Only fools pay retail.

But the market maker does have to buy my options when
I offer them at the bid, so I have a guaranteed trade.

I don't have a TV, so I only get to watch these shows when
I'm on business out of town or visiting relatives. But I bought
the Ferengi Legends book, and it has better stock market
advice than a lot of other books I've bought over the years.
