"Total made up nonsense by James Bovard"

It is NOT 'made-up nonsense' to simply and correctly point out that LIBERTARIANS differ radically in their beliefs from AUTHORITARIAN/NATIONAL SECURITY or pro-foreign war types.

Or to point out (again, correctly!) that whatever personal behaviors Libertarians may choose for themselves they ALSO differ radically from the SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES in one very important respect: that Libertarians don't believe in a government mandating personal behaviors while Social Conservatives often do.

Since polling clearly shows that much of the 'Tea Party' followers hail from either small government Libertarian, or foreign policy / national security Authoritarian backgrounds, or from Social Conservatives, it is simply FACTUAL to observe that this political movement --- like *all* big political movements --- has various and often contending factions.
