Darrell, I think it was Bruce that wrote 4 ways to scare shorts. He forgot the number one way which is to shine a flashlight on them.

I personally don't know if this is what happened but it's possible.
Curley I don't think this SEC letter writing is a good idea, remember the old wall street proverb, "where there is smoke there is fire" this might keep people from buying Cymer if they think there is hanky panky going on with the stock.

Darrell:>>why someone thinks this is unusual<< Falsifying blatant lie rumors, maintaining analyst recommendations to lure public investors while an affiliative arrangement has been preagreed and not disclosed, filing financing documents without disclosing beneficial conflict of interest arrangements, hosting a conference call to misrepresent and ommit important factual information while not disclosing real intent with the express purpose to manipulate prices, deceptive sales practices. Uh Darrell.....The more important question is who believes they can get away with scoffing at securities laws.

Good Luck To Each And All

Darrell, speaking of shorts

Of the 50 odd companies in SI semi equip group, 11 that got dumped have made it back to their 23 or 40 day SMA. Considering the volatilty, Asia, the Universe etc, are we not likely to see some profit taking / heading to the sidelines for the weekend pressuring those stocks in particular. I wonder how much of this, if it happens, will spill over to others in the group. I know little of most of them except for what I see on the charts. I got off half my position in VECO (one of the abovementioned 11) today and am thinking of shorting one or two of the high fliers as a hedge for the weekend and / or CYMI holdings. S&P & NYFE futures in similar position. Sell S&P Mini's?
