You can make it any percentage you want but MOST of them don't really care about "social issues" if they don't affect them personally.

They'd certainly like to pay lower taxes but they'd also like to be able to count on medicare, medicaid and social security if they should need it.

They ARE "apolitical" if their lives aren't being affected.

What I find most interesting about some of the Tea Party folks is that they may be elderly and have collected MORE from Social Security and Medicare than they EVER paid in but they are gungho about cutting OTHER STUFF but not THEIR payments.

EVERYBODY works from a "self interest" standpoint.
