Agreed. We do a very poor job of lifecycle costs on almost anything. Nuke power is another great example. Natural resources are often priced with no regard to the creation of them, instead only the cost of extraction.

I guess its pretty much the same as we have seen with the banks, socialize risk, privatize profits.
