Yep I guess this is like investing in a cigarette stock now. Expect litigation news every couple of days and some loss of business from governmental agencies perhaps.People hire GS to get them money and at a time when Municipalities and States, not to mention the federal government, will be hurting for money and be desperate to figure out innovative ways to get some, this witch hunt is really cutting off your nose to spite your face. If I were GS I might put out something like the "resources that we are having to commit to defend our reputation and integrity will unfortunately force ourselves to curtail our involvement in municipal finance. " That might give these political hacks and union leaders some pause for thought.

Meanwhile I continue to like my Gold Silver, Berkshire and foreign plays. I dont know whether i want the aggravation of sticking with GS though this. Somebody noted the irony that the SEC prosecutor who brought the case against GS used to be the general counsul for Deutche Bank who did exactly the same thing that GS is being held accountable for now.
