Somebody on the radio said the rig is sitting over the pipe that is spewing out oil. If that is true, capping it will be difficult.

I heard that too. Another thing I heard is that American rigs are not required to have an automatic shutoff valve. Other countries require it on their offshore rigs.

I find that incomprehensible.
