Oh yeah, John, that's the typical GOP modus operandi. It's socialism for the wealthy and free markets for the rest of us. So if you are British Petroleum or Exxon, then you get our military to help you secure your oil supplies or clean up your oil spill. But if the oil ruins your tourism or fishing business, then the GOP will be the first to tell you tough shit and that's the free market. Or check this out. When you argue that we need to provide subsidies to the renewable energy industry to help incubate it as it gets to scale, they tell you that we should let the free markets decide which energy is best. But then when you point out that big oil is subsidized heavily in tax subsidies as well as in military help, they deny it. It's all just a colossal facade. I don't think many people are buying all the bullshit anymore, though.
