The big problem is they don't when or how to shut it off. That leak is a mmile down. Not even a finite amount oil like the Exxon Valdez. Even if they cap it it could result in a blow out somewhere hear in the seafloor. (what happened off Santa Barbara in 1969). They may just have to let it stop on its own.

Feel bad for the environment, families of those killed, even BP, RIG. Had someone said, "we can't let you drill that deep if you can't stop a leak at that depth" this would have never have happened.
