Rex,,, Excellent report,great info.. Two things;

1) Wasn't the unit with the two slots to be used with one for ROM
and one with regular MMC card ?? I don't quite understand dual card purpose.. Or can you just double up on memory that way ??

2) Didn't I read production was to go up to as much as 20 meg on MMC?
Thanks...JW

Rex,

Thanks for your excellent reports on the press confab and for answering my question about which chip will handle which applications.

Another question: will the SNDK chip handle voice messages? I see that as probably the largest possible application initially. Not everyone is concerned with faxes and other data transmissions.

Jim

Rex,
I am curious why I never hear of anyone thinking about flash memory to reduce the bootup time of PCs. I have a lot of stuff to initialize and my boot takes almost 1.5 minutes.
