Imo, the reason Obama didn't immediately head for the Gulf Coast, is the severity of the situation just didn't resonate with him. I get the feeling, like I said last night, that environmental protection is not high on his list of priorities.. It is not unlike Bush's slow response to the Katrina tragedy where being poor just didn't resonate with him either. Also both probably thought in their own minds, neither one could offer up any good suggestions on what to do or even know what kind of questions to ask.. Both being completely out of their element. JMTs..
