This may very well be true, given human lifespans and the speed of light being the universal speed limit. That's why every SciFi show taking place in space has some means of travel faster than the speed of light.

Older SciFi had "generation ships", giant space ships with agriculture, where generations would be born and die before ever getting to their Earth-like destinations.

I think we'll change some humans for space. A rocket with a brain that can live 1000 years on top. Stephen Hawking might go for it.
