They had a blowout preventer stack. It didn't work. The best chance they've got of stopping it is to get it to work.

Otherwise the thing could be leaking for months.

The thing is, BP was SO SURE that the blowout preventer stack would work, they had NO PLAN in case it failed. So, you can be pretty sure that no one else has any plans either, for any offshore wells.

They already have something that weighs about 700 tons (?) with about 6 stages.....check Google.... Problem is they can't get it to work.... And it cost a helluva lot more than 500K.

But alas, poor Barack....when he was down there drilling he never tested the blow out preventer... But we've got to
