The results will be like my brother in law's pilot's union going on strike. The airline collapsed and they all had to find new jobs just at a time when there was little work available in the airline industry [that was several years ago during the big bust].

He ended up washing houses to earn some money. He had a little car rental business too. Finally, he got another job, bought himself a ranting for another aircraft [cost about $30,000] and has been flying since.

Going on strike doesn't create work. If people don't like a job, get another one. If they can't get a better job and their existing job is not worth as much money as they were getting, then it looks as though their price has gone down. Bad luck for them. They could try not working at all and see how they like not eating and living under a hedge.
