Speaking of records, why is HK so totally paralyzed on this? The officialdom speaks of eliminating old polluting buses by 2019, but why not just do it now? Seventy percent of the city’s residents expressed the highest level of dissatisfaction with air quality. The next most disgruntled population was in Chad, where 59 percent of adults were highly dissatisfied with their air, as well as water and other basics, said Gallup research director Bob Tortora.

Hydrocarbons evaporating then settling inland could make this disaster a whole lot more significant. Imagine a zone of destruction whose size cannot yet be measured. A dead zone 10, 15, 20 miles inland would mean the end of the Gulf Coast as we know it. This thing has the potential to make Katrina look like a picnic.
