Skeets, remember, you are quoting a source who believes that outsiders are making the Catholic Church look bad on sexual abuse of minors. Aluminum hat wearers are not always the most reliable folks to quote.

I don't know if you read this, but this guy may be right about something I never considered.

I take it this guy is gay.

As I've often repeated, there is a difference between pedophilia and homosexuality. Both were prevalent in the Catholic church cases, but they were all reported as pedophilia and the sex was never discussed (though there were almost no girls).

The point he is making is that by misleading the public about the cases and calling them all pedophilia to maximize the damage to the church, the media may have accidentally done damage to the homosexual community by linking the two. More people are going to associate homosexual behavior with pedophilia even though they are two different things.

As a result, organizations that deal with young boys are going to look at what happened to the Church when it liberalized its recruiting and brought in a lot of homosexuals and be highly reluctant to employ homosexuals.
